Looking for a place in Waco to buy some really cool pumpkins or gourds for your fall decorations? Or maybe you’ve been looking for the perfect pumpkin patch to snap some great pics of your kids sitting with “The Great Pumpkin.” Central Christian Church at 4901 Lake Shore Drive in Waco has you covered! For the fifth year now, Central Christian Church has opened its grounds and shared its annual Pumpkin Patch with Waco residents.
My husband and I recently took my mother-in-law and daughters to the Pumpkin Patch after church on Sunday so that they could each pick out a pumpkin. There were pumpkins of every size, shape and color! Most intriguing to me were the pumpkins that looked like moldy brains–they were pretty gross. But luckily for this lover of tradition, they had some good ‘ole fashioned orange pumpkins that could have easily come straight out of Charlie Brown’s Great Pumpkin Patch.
After searching for the “perfect” pumpkin, my youngest daughter settled on a keeper and then got a small yellow, star-shaped gourd to boot! We have since covered the gourd in silver glitter and set it next to her perfectly carved Jack-o-Lantern. I must admit that the glittery gourd is quite the eye-catcher on our front porch!
The day that we were there, the volunteers told me that they were going to be receiving an additional shipment of almost 2,000 more pumpkins! So there are certainly plenty for you to choose from. With prices ranging from 50 cents to $40, there’s a pumpkin for everyone’s budget!
Many thanks to Central Christian Church and their team of volunteers for bringing the perfect pumpkin patch back to Waco this year! The money that they raise goes to some very good causes right here in the Waco community, including the Mission Waco Christmas Store. I hope that everyone gets a chance to go by and help support their fundraising efforts! You can find out more information about the pumpkin patch by clicking here.
